Labels that prove themselves
You never type a label. Each one is built from the recipe and the declarations of the exact packs used, so it can be checked and reprinted exactly as it went out.
Built from the recipe
Ingredients in descending weight order, the 14 UK allergens in bold capitals, bought compound ingredients declared with their sub-ingredients in brackets, and your business name and address. Allergens appear once, inside the ingredients list, with no separate allergens line.
Per-batch supplier selection
At batch time, choose which supplier's pack actually went in. The label rebuilds from that pack's declaration, and you are warned if an alternate's allergens differ from your usual.
Blocked, never guessed
A batch is stopped if any ingredient the label derives from has no declaration. It would rather stop than print an uncertain label.
Immutable batch snapshots
Recording a batch stores exactly what was printed, when, and which pack went into every ingredient. Reprint reprints the snapshot, not a regeneration.
Best before or use by
Set per product, switchable per batch, so perishables carry the right wording.
Your label stock, already in there
Search the label stock catalogue by size, sheet code or maker. Laser and inkjet twins of one layout are treated as one, so an L7162 and a J8162 print identically. Add custom sizes, or start part-way down a used sheet.
Text that fits, or says it can't
Text auto-sizes. If content genuinely won't fit you are told, rather than it being silently clipped.
Design your own front label
Choose a front label, a PPDS layout, an information sheet, or any combination. Start from a template or a blank canvas and add a logo, a strapline, shapes and free text. Name, price, date and allergens fill themselves in every time you print.
Lay out the required label your way
Move the allergens box, the date or the batch line. Every required line stays on the label, never below its legal minimum size, and a layout that doesn't fit is refused when you save it.
Label archive
Full history on every plan, never metered. This is the record you hand an inspector.

Allergen checking that doesn't trust itself
The dangerous failure in allergen labelling is silent under-declaration: the milk nobody spotted. ProvenBatch is built against exactly that.
Detected, never assumed
Saving a declaration flags any of the 14 UK allergens found, always as unverified until you confirm against the pack. The app can point; only you can decide.
A second opinion
An independent re-read of every declaration with a different rule set flags allergens mentioned but not recorded, recorded but unsupported, and "contains" that should be "may contain". It only suggests, because you are the one who decides.
Freshness tracking
Suppliers may reformulate without telling anyone. Declarations nobody has confirmed, or that are older than your review period, are chased until someone checks the pack.
An append-only history
Every confirmation, verification, removal and edit is recorded with who, when and the wording at that moment. Nobody can edit or delete it, not even the owner.
The allergen matrix
Every product against the 14 allergens, unverified entries outlined. Print it for the kitchen wall or export CSV.

Setup and capture without the typing
The real barrier to any labelling tool is entering a vast number of declarations before you can print anything. We removed it.
Photograph a pack
Snap the ingredients panel. The declaration is read and shown beside what is stored, and accepting saves it and records the pack check in one action. The photo is kept as evidence. An unreadable panel is refused, not guessed.
Starting out? Sweep a shelf
Photograph a whole shelf of packs at once and check the readings afterwards. Each one proposes an ingredient and a supplier product for you to confirm or edit.
Snap a receipt, sort it later
One tap, phone away. It is read in the background and waits in a review list. Nothing enters your accounts until you confirm it.
Reading that fills the form
Shop, date and reference recognised, and every line matched to items you already buy. Crop and re-read a bad photo, or photograph a long till roll in overlapping pages.
Email receipts in
Your own private forwarding address. A supplier's PDF invoice is read straight from your inbox, with a sender allowlist, and you can replace the address instantly.
Price-change alerts
A matched line that differs from your stored pack cost is highlighted. One press and every recipe using that ingredient re-costs itself.
Recipes from a photo, a PDF or a link
Paste the text, give us a web address, photograph the book page or pick a photo you already took. Ingredients are separated from method, fractions and cups converted, and lines matched for you to check.
Tell ProvenBot what happened
Say it the way you would out loud: "I made twenty-four sourdough", "fridge is four". He works out which record it belongs in and puts it on a card. Nothing is written until you tap Save this.
Ask him about your own numbers
What one costs you to make, a quote for an order, or which products made money last month. He answers from the same figures your screens show.
Installed and offline
Add it to your home screen. Captures queue on the phone with an honest "saved on this phone only" note and sync when signal returns.
Running the business
Costs, orders, accounts and the food safety record, in the same place as the labels.
Live costing
Batch and unit costs from your current pack prices, never a stale import. A cost built over a missing price is flagged est, so you never price a product off a hole.
Products and margins
Sale price, shelf life, storage and date wording per product. Unit cost, margin and margin % on one screen.
Orders and customers
Log orders with due dates and prices, track them to collection and keep customer history. Turn a batch into an order or an order into a batch.
One batch, many products
Batch everything you are making that day together and every label set prints in one go, packed onto shared sheets. Again repeats a recent batch.
Shopping list
From a batch: scaled, merged, rounded up to whole packs and grouped by supplier with costs.
Cash-basis accounts
Money in from collected orders, money out from expenses, and a monthly profit and loss. Cash basis is the default method for sole traders.
Receipt image archive
Images stored privately with expenses. You choose how long they are kept, with six years as the default.
Health check
One screen answering what is missing and how much it matters, graded critical, major or minor, each finding linking to its fix. It never ticks a compliance box for you.
Insights Pro
Overview, Money, Making, Selling and Compliance views, each figure with its change on the prior period. The plain-English summary is worked out from your data.
Users and roles
Owner and Member roles, with one-use invite links that expire in 7 days. Verifying an allergen declaration stays an owner's decision.
Batch Mode and kitchen printing
The screen stays awake while a recipe is open, and any recipe prints or saves as a clean kitchen sheet.
Stock control Pro
Track stock in the unit you buy it in, set a reorder level and have every batch deduct what it used. Stocking in a delivery logs a goods-in check that feeds the inspection pack.
Food safety diary Pro
Daily due-diligence checks the way the Safer Food, Better Business pack groups a day, with sign-off, a week diary and a month view. A late entry says it was late, and a skip needs a reason.
HACCP plans and reviews Pro
A guided 4-weekly review that can't be back-dated, HACCP plans, the cleaning schedule, and corrective actions you can't close without recording what you did.
The inspection pack Pro
One dated, printable export of the whole record: checks as recorded, sign-offs, reviews, goods-in checks, corrective actions and active HACCP plans. Nothing summarised.
A link for the inspector Pro
Give an environmental health officer a code and they read your food safety records on their own device. They can look, not change anything. It expires by itself and you can revoke it instantly.

* An archive left unresumed for 12 months may be scheduled for deletion, after we email you and with a 30-day grace period. See clause 10 of the Terms and clause 10 of the Privacy Policy.
